Baiting investigation dogs seized
05 March 2007 - BBC News
Animal welfare officers and police have seized 17 dogs from three
houses in Hawick in connection with an alleged badger baiting ring.
Three men, aged 21, 18 and 16, were questioned after raids on 15 February but no-one has been charged.
Police officers also seized mobile phones and enquiries are continuing.
The 17 dogs are all being cared for at secret locations
and are expected to be used as evidence if a case is brought against
any of the men.
