Warning over damaged badger setts
12 Apr 2007 - BBC News
People are warned not to interfere with badger setts after reports to police
of the disturbances and destruction of setts in Cambridgeshire.
Under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992 it is a criminal offence to
interfere with a sett, with a maximum prison sentence of six months.
Wildlife crime officer Pc Paul Carter said the incident was also threatening
the county's badger population.
He urged anyone with information about the incidents to contact him.
