Police raise badger baiting fears
7 January 2008 - BBC News
Police have appealed for witnesses to an apparent attempt at badger baiting
in rural Dumfries and Galloway.
They have discovered evidence that a sett in the Mutehill area of
Kirkcudbright was disturbed between 29 and 30 December.
Community constable Ian Bradley said it was unfortunate that people continued
with the "barbaric and cruel activity".
He asked for anyone who saw people carrying shovels, bags or cages in the
area to contact police.
