Dogs seized in cross-border raid

12 March 2009 - BBC News
Police from across the Scotland-England border and animal cruelty officers
have seized two terrier dogs in a raid connected with alleged badger baiting.
The joint operation took place in the Workington area of Cumbria. As a result of the search, two dogs were seized along with a number of
computers and DVDs.
The operation came after the arrest of two men at the weekend following the
disturbance of a sett and killing of a badger in the Lockerbie area. Officers from Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary, Cumbria Police, the
Scottish SPCA and RSPCA were part of the operation on Thursday morning. It followed the arrests near Lockerbie on Saturday.
A police spokesman confirmed that the two men arrested had been bailed to
appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court in early April.
