Badger sett in woods destroyed

18 November 2009 - BBC News
A badger sett in Hertfordshire woods has been destroyed by people who filled
in the entrances.
The 24 entrances to the sett in Alburyend Wood, Albury, were filled in to
cave-in the badgers' home and kill any animals living there.
Police investigating said it is believed some form of low level explosive was
also used.
Pc Paul Scott, from Buntingford police station, said: "This is a disgusting
crime."
Sgt Jamie Bartlett, wildlife crime co-ordinator for Hertfordshire police,
said: "We are working closely with a number of organisations to investigate this
crime and to gather as much evidence as possible."
